Pruning in late winter and early spring, before the tree fully leafs out, lets our arborists see the structure clearly. We can shape the canopy, remove crossing limbs, and reduce weight on weak branches with surgical precision.
Spring cuts also heal quickly. The tree is moving into its active growing season, which means sealed wounds and a strong flush of new growth in the right places.
There are exceptions. Oaks, for example, are best pruned in late fall or winter to avoid attracting beetles that spread oak wilt. Our team will always pick the right window for the species in your yard.
